Softball Game Preview: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Field Falcons

Cloverleaf is 1-9 against Field since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Colts will take on the Falcons at 5:00 p.m.

Cloverleaf is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Ravenna, falling 10-1.

Meanwhile, Field had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-5.

Field's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Cloverleaf, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Cloverleaf might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Field in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
