            Basketball Recap: Cascade Champions vs. Community Vikings/Viqueens        
        
		
        
        
            Cascade hadn't done well against Community recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. The Cascade Champions managed  a  55-51 victory over the Community Vikings/Viqueens. That's more bragging rights for the Champions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Cascade can attribute much of their success to  Kaegan Young, who  posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was  Lizzie Keele, who  put up 12  points.
 Despite the loss, Community still got an impressive performance from   Alyssa White, who  dropped  a double-double on 20 points and 12  rebounds. That's the most  points  White has posted since back in February of 2024.  Sara Flannagan was another key player,  going 6 for 7  on her way to 16 points.

Cascade's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 8-8. As for Community, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record  this season.
 Cascade will square off against Cannon County at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Cannon County will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something Cascade surely won't give up without a fight. Community has  already played their next  match (against Forrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
