Basketball Game Preview: Athens Drive Jaguars vs. San Jose Prep Storm

The Athens Drive Jaguars will take on the San Jose Prep Storm in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Athens Drive is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 68-32 victory over East Chapel Hill. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Kianna Gulley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Kelly, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

Athens Drive smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, San Jose Prep earned a 55-45 win over Ribault on Monday.

San Jose Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Athens Drive, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
