Basketball Game Preview: Monadnock Huskies vs. Hopkinton Hawks

The Monadnock Huskies will take on the Hopkinton Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Monadnock is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Conant just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Orioles 50-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Huskies came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Orioles are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Hopkinton made easy work of Mascoma on Tuesday and carried off a 57-33 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Monadnock's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Hopkinton, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Monadnock skirted past Hopkinton 53-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monadnock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
