It's playoff time, and Maranatha Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Rock Academy Warriors to the tune of 44-6 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Maranatha Christian was led to victory by Ryan Niguidula and Shane Piester. Niguidula rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while Piester rushed for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 106 rushing yards gave Niguidula a new career-high.

Maranatha Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Dane Johnson led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Another thorn in Rock Academy's side was Tasin, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Maranatha Christian pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.8 points on average over those games. As for Rock Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Maranatha Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-6 win against Clairemont on the 14th. Rock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
