Baseball Game Preview: Western Christian Wolfpack vs. Sheldon Orabs

The Western Christian Wolfpack are taking a road trip to square off against the Sheldon Orabs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Western Christian, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Western Christian and Cherokee Washington meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Wolfpack came out on top against the Braves by a score of 7-2.

Meanwhile, Sheldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Orabs have lost by exactly ten runs.

Western Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sheldon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15-1.

Western Christian got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May against Sheldon by a conclusive 19-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
