Volleyball Game Preview: Sedgwick County Cougars vs. Akron Rams + How To Watch

The Sedgwick County Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Akron Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sedgwick County will be strutting in after a win while Akron will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Sedgwick County made easy work of Holyoke and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-13, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Akron didn't have quite enough to beat Wray on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Akron took Wray into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-11.

Akron's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Sedgwick County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Sedgwick County beat Akron 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
