El Diamante and Mt. Whitney are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Miners will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games El Diamante has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, El Diamante didn't have quite enough to beat Monache and fell 4-3.

El Diamante saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Pena, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Golden West 3-2 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Pioneers have beaten the Trailblazers on their field since April 27, 2023.

Mt. Whitney's win bumped their record up to 5-19. As for El Diamante, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13-1 record this season.

El Diamante was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Whitney when the teams last played back in March, winning 10-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Miners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
