If South Sioux City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bellevue West, they should've done a better job of containing Will Anderson. The Thunderbirds took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-0 victory over the Cardinals with plenty of help from Anderson, who threw for 238 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 13-for-13 passing. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 19 passing touchdowns on the season.

Another player making a difference was Jermaine Green, who picked up 86 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Bellevue West, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Adrian Wilson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

One reason for the win was Bellevue West's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Vincent Garza, Dontel McNeil, and Kairi Smith, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win got Bellevue West back to even at 3-3. As for South Sioux City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellevue West is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 894 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, South Sioux City will take on rival Omaha North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
