Baseball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springville Tigers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Southside's record now sits at 19-8. As for Springville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Southside and Springville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Panthers will face off against Coosa Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (44 vs. 178). Meanwhile, Springville (ranked 17th) will meet Corner (ranked 103rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
