Basketball Recap: Northeast Vikings vs. Oswego Indians
Northeast unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Oswego Indians on Monday, falling 72-51. The Vikings were probably out for revenge after losing 74-70 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Oswego was led to victory by Josh Hutchinson and Owen Jackson. Hutchinson dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 boards, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Demitri Williamson, who posted nine points.
The victory got Oswego back to even at 1-1.
Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-44 win against St. Paul on the 10th. As for Oswego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-20 loss against Madison/Hamilton on the 10th.
