Collinsworth named Air Force National High School Football Player of the Week

Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.) running back Austin Collinsworth runs for 229 yards and two scores in 36-7 win over Covington Catholic (Park Hills, Ky.).

Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.) senior running back Austin Collinsworth has been named the MaxPreps U.S. Air Force National High School Football Player of the Week for his performance Saturday.

In leading the Bluebirds to a 36-7 win over Covington Catholic (Park Hills, Ky.), the 6-foot-1, 182-pound Collinsworth rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries.

Collinsworth, the son of former Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Cris Collinsworth, also caught one pass for 8 yards and returned two punts for 27 yards.

Highlands, which stayed unbeaten at 8-0 overall and 2-0 in 5A District 5 play, hosts Scott (Covington, Ky.) at 7 p.m. Friday.
