            Volleyball Recap: The Nueva School Mavericks vs. Design Tech Dragons        
        
		
        
        
            The Nueva School won the last time they faced Design Tech and  Julia Cai did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mavericks were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Dragons on Thursday with plenty of help from  Cai, who  had seven  aces, five  kills,  and three  digs. She has been hot recently, having  posted five or more  kills the last four times she's  played.
 One reason for the win was The Nueva School's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19,  25-17.

The Nueva School was led to victory by  Zoe Chien and  Elie Woodstone.  Chien  had six  aces, while  Woodstone  had 14  assists and three  aces. Those  three  aces gave  Woodstone a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Vivian Ma, who  had six assists and three  aces.
 They weren't the only good servers: The Nueva School  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 21  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least ten  aces in eight consecutive  matches.
 Despite the loss, Design Tech still got an impressive performance from   Katie Kockos, who  had 11  digs and two  aces.
The Nueva School has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record  this season. As for Design Tech, they now  have a losing record of 8-9.
 Looking ahead, The Nueva School will take on Pacific Bay Christian at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Design Tech, they will challenge Pinewood at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
