Basketball Recap: Archmere Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Howard

On Wednesday, Archmere Academy faced Howard in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Archmere Academy Auks took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howard Wildcats. The Auks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Howard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Glory Forbi, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ha'Lena Griffin, who scored six points and 15 rebounds.

Archmere Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Howard, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Archmere Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-47 defeat against Delaware Military Academy on the 16th. As for Howard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-42 win against Appoquinimink on the 21st.
