Football Recap: Jubilee Comes Up Short

Jubilee had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 55-20 loss at the hands of San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 54-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool, the win got them back to even at 3-3. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Jubilee is ranked 202nd).

Jacob Oviedo was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 170 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 100 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Jubilee will host Big Springs Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool, they will face off against Fort Bend Chargers HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
