Football Recap: Auburn's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Auburn ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 39-33 W over the Uxbridge Spartans. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Rockets were down 33-18 in the third quarter.

Despite the loss, Uxbridge still got an impressive performance from Shea Paxton, who threw for 243 yards and four TDs. Thatcher Sweeney was Paxton's top target, picking up 140 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win was the fourth in a row for Auburn, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for Uxbridge, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Auburn and Uxbridge will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rockets are set to take on their familiar foe Doherty Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Uxbridge will face off against rival Millbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
