Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Thunder Ridge Titans
Rigby has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Thunder Ridge Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Rigby faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rigby took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 63-31 win over Skyline. Rigby has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Kambree Barber was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbie Scott, who scored five points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Thunder Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Bonneville on Thursday, taking the game 53-46.
Rigby's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Thunder Ridge, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
Rigby was able to grind out a solid victory over Thunder Ridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 59-51. Does Rigby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thunder Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
