Basketball Recap: Hannan Comes Up Short

Hannan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against Parkersburg Christian, falling 66-33. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Hannan had strong showings from Ayden Stewart, who posted five points, and Laken Canterbury, who put up five points. The dominant performance gave Canterbury a new career-high in points.

Ashton Peeples was a one-man wrecking crew for Parkersburg Christian as he went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Peeples has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Johnson, who scored 12 points and six steals.

Hannan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Parkersburg Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hannan will venture away from home to challenge Cross Lanes Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkersburg Christian, they will head out to face off against New Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
