Softball Game Preview: South Gallia Rebels vs. Northwest Mohawks

The South Gallia Rebels will head out to take on the Northwest Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Gallia hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Monday just wasn't the day for South Gallia's offense. They came up short against Eastern on Monday, falling 18-0.

Meanwhile, Northwest entered their match against Symmes Valley on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mohawks took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings.

Mollyann Runyon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Kendra Bostwick was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

South Gallia's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Northwest, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 10-3.

South Gallia suffered a grim 22-0 defeat to Northwest in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
