Basketball Recap: Jason Coleman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead San Tan Foothills over Benjamin Franklin

San Tan Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 56-43 to the Benjamin Franklin Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Sabercats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Chargers are ranked 47th).

San Tan Foothills' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Coleman, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Coleman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Fulton, who put up nine points.

Among those leading the charge was Bennett Christensen, who went 7 of 13 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Talan Speir, who scored nine points.

San Tan Foothills now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Benjamin Franklin, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3.

San Tan Foothills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-30 defeat against ALA - Ironwood on the 31st. As for Benjamin Franklin, they have also already played their next game, a 70-33 win against Payson on the 31st.
