Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Blue Dragons vs. Rocky Hill Terriers

The Middletown Blue Dragons will face off against the Rocky Hill Terriers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Middletown: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Rocky Hill has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Middletown opened the new year with a less-than-successful 43-36 defeat to Edwin O. Smith.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sakayla Gumbs, who posted 14 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Rielle Jackson, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Rocky Hill took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-31 victory over Maloney. The Terriers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Rocky Hill's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Middletown against Rocky Hill in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as the team secured a 56-28 victory. Will Middletown repeat their success, or does Rocky Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
