Softball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Knights vs. East Alton-Wood River Oilers

Metro-East Lutheran extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They came up short against the East Alton-Wood River Oilers, falling 11-3. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 10-9 to the Oilers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In other batting news, Camey Adams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Tretter, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Metro-East Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Alton-Wood River, they are taking a road trip to face off against Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Miners will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Oilers surely won't give up without a fight.
