Beech Grove took a 20-point defeat the last time they faced off against Tri-West Hendricks, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bruins 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since November 4, 2025.

Olivia Stowers was a one-woman wrecking crew as she shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Harmony Burks also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Beech Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They are a perfect 7-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-West Hendricks lost on Saturday, don't look at Aniyah Anthony. Despite the final result, she shot 86% from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and five steals. Anthony has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Smith, who posted 11 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Beech Grove and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beech Grove will square off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they will face off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.48 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
