Basketball Recap: Shawnee Comes Up Short

After flying high against Iroquois last Tuesday, Shawnee came back down to earth. The Shawnee Golden Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 62-61 to the Atherton Ravens. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Atherton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against W.E.B. DuBois Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Atherton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Waggener at 7:30 p.m.
