Football Game Preview: Pantego Christian Panthers vs. Trinity Christian Eagles

For the first time this season, Pantego Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Trinity Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pantego Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pantego Christian challenged Coram Deo Academy on Friday. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 62-43 win over the Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Pantego Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Jackson out in front who rushed for 310 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, Jackson is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season. Hayes Young was another key passer, throwing for 226 yards and four TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pantego Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 474 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Pantego Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Hickman and Jackson. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, after only three points in their last contest, Trinity Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against Newman International Academy on Friday. The Eagles claimed a resounding 44-12 victory over the Warriors. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pantego Christian's record now sits at 6-0. As for Trinity Christian, their record is now 2-3.

Pantego Christian took their win against Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-18 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Eagles' Canaan Kaznowski, who rushed for 87 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 153 yards and one touchdown.
