Baseball Game Preview: Anderson County Bearcats vs. Western Hills Wolverines

The Anderson County Bearcats will venture away from home to take on the Western Hills Wolverines at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Anderson County's offense. They came up short against Collins on Wednesday, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Western Hills also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Southern on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wolverines were not able to get on the board.

Western Hills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Gatewood, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Western Hills dropped their record down to 15-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Anderson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Anderson County skirted past Western Hills 2-1 in their previous meeting on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
