Basketball Recap: St. Stephens Indians vs. Bunker Hill Bears

St. Stephens had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it nine. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bunker Hill Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-43 back in November.

As for Bunker Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 54.0 points this season.

Bunker Hill was led to victory by Eliana McClain and Hayley Spriggle. McClain dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten steals, while Spriggle posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. McClain is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, St. Stephens will head out to face off against Bandys at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bunker Hill, they will face off against Hickory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
