Basketball Recap: Windward Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Windward won the last time they faced Millikan and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Windward Wildcats' way against the Millikan Rams as the Windward Wildcats made off with a 74-52 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Rams are ranked 185th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeremiah Hunt and Tariq Bridges certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Hunt went 9 for 19 en route to 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Bridges went 8 of 20 on his way to 17 points and five boards. The match was Hunt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Wicker, who posted six points.

The win was the third in a row for Windward, bringing their record for this year to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Millikan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Windward has already played their next game (against Campbell Hall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Millikan will welcome Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Millikan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season.
