Basketball Recap: Scarborough Comes Up Short

Scarborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 71-53 bruising from the Northside Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-40 back in November of 2024.

Northside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braylon Williams led the charge by going 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Colmenero, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.

Scarborough's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Northside, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-15.

When Scarborough and Northside next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Scarborough will try to stop Washington's three-game winning streak when the meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Northside will take on Wheatley and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
