Softball Recap: Cuba Wildcats vs. St. James Tigers
Cuba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the St. James Tigers, falling 19-8. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Jerri Forester made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Miller, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Cuba hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. James struck out six times.
Cuba's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Cuba will welcome Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. James, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. James is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
