            The Thomas Jefferson Spartans are taking a road trip to  face off against the Mullen Mustangs  at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. Thomas Jefferson is coming into the  contest on  a  five-game losing streak.
Thomas Jefferson came up short against  Summit last Thursday, falling  18-8. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by  exactly ten  runs.

  Shepard Schneider made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jesus Flores-Sanchez, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Mullen). They came out on top against Chandler by a score of  13-9  on Saturday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Mustangs.
 Jake Clark looked comfortable as he  tossed 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He also  tossed  no  walks, which is notable because Mullen is 2-1 when he allows at  most  two  walks, but 1-2 otherwise.
 At the plate,  Thomas Stewart was  incredible,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run and five  RBI. That  home run was  his first of the season.  Dalton Marsh was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Mullen was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .387. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mullen,  the  victory  got them back to even at 3-3.
