Ponder is 8-0 against Boyd since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ponder Lions will look to defend their home court against the Boyd Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ponder challenged Pilot Point on Tuesday. Ponder breezed by Pilot Point to the tune of 72-27. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Boyd beat Callisburg 58-52 on Tuesday.

Ponder better keep an eye on Myles Richardson. He was instrumental in Boyd's win, putting up 19 points. Lex Horton was another key player, posting 12 points.

Ponder is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Boyd, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-19.

Everything came up roses for Ponder against Boyd when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured an 83-41 victory. In that game, Ponder amassed a halftime lead of 42-21, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
