Recap: Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons vs. Poly Engineers
It was a good run, but the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 56-30 loss at the hands of Poly. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bethesda-Chevy Chase has scored all season.
Poly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was London Elliot, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sierra Georges, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Poly, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase will head out on the road to face off against Wootton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wootton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Bethesda-Chevy Chase is ranked 15th). As for Poly, they will be playing at home against Lake Clifton at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
