Basketball Game Preview: Denver Waldorf Spartans vs. STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans

The Denver Waldorf Spartans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Denver Waldorf and nine for STEM School Highlands Ranch.

On Thursday, Denver Waldorf was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 23-22 to Rocky Mountain Lutheran. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 8-4 in the first quarter.

Despite their defeat, Denver Waldorf saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mila Ivano, who posted two points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance also gave Ivano a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Annie O'Meara, who scored three points in addition to four steals and four blocks.

Meanwhile, STEM School Highlands Ranch was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 32-27 to Aurora West College Prep Academy.

Denver Waldorf's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
