Volleyball Recap: Sandwich Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sandwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mendota Trojans. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Sandwich may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 12 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12.

Alayla Harris paced Sandwich's offense, picking up four kills. Harris got some help from Khloe White and her four assists. Finally, Kayden Corneils kept Sandwich's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Sandwich's loss dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Mendota, their victory ended a 15-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-27-1.

Sandwich does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mendota, they will square off against Newman Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Comets have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
