Softball Recap: Shepherd Takes a Loss

Shepherd came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Livingston Lions. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pirates, who until this matchup were averaging 3.97 runs allowed.

Shepherd saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayci Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Shepherd has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 23-9 record this season. As for Livingston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-7.

As of now, neither Shepherd nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
