Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Warriors vs. Ouachita Christian Eagles

The Lakeside Warriors will challenge the Ouachita Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Lakeside's favor as the squad sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Ouachita Christian has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Lakeside earned a 14-9 win over Winnfield.

Lakeside got a massive performance out of Emily Jones, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Jones has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs.

Jones wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lakeside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They got six more hits than Winnfield's also-impressive total of 14.

Meanwhile, Ouachita Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Grace Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 16-15. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Ouachita Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Lakeside took their win against Ouachita Christian when the teams last played on March 1st by a conclusive 7-0. Does Lakeside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ouachita Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
