Basketball Recap: Cheyenne/Reydon Falls Despite Big Games from Kimbo Denney and Emma Bogges

Cheyenne/Reydon suffered their closest defeat since March 1st on Saturday. They fell just short of the Okarche Warriors by a score of 49-47. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bears came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Warriors are ranked 63rd).

Cheyenne/Reydon's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Bogges and Kimbo Denney. Bogges shot 54% from the field on her way to 18 points, while Denney posted 13 points. Denney is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games she's played.

Cheyenne/Reydon's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Okarche, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Cheyenne/Reydon will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sentinel at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Okarche, they will venture away from home to face off against Watonga at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
