Basketball Recap: Peninsula Comes Up Short

Peninsula lost against River Ridge back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Peninsula Seahawks took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Hawks.

River Ridge found their leader in sophomore Ryzen Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. The game was Nunez's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dominique Harper, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Peninsula has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for River Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Peninsula didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-52 loss against Timberline on the 29th. As for River Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-54 victory against Capital on the 29th.
