Basketball Recap: Wapahani Comes Up Short on the Road Against Muncie Central

Wapahani had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They received a blow as they fell 73-59 to the Muncie Central Bearcats. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Wapahani lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camden Bell, who shot 55% from the field en route to 30 points and seven rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Eli Andrews was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Muncie Central found their leader in sophomore Jaxson Johnson, who went 9-for-15 to rack up 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Echols, who posted ten points.

Wapahani didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-46 loss against Pendleton Heights on the 29th. As for Muncie Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Guerin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd.
