Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Snyder vs. Trinity Catholic

The Bishop Snyder Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Snyder is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.

Bishop Snyder lost 5-2 to Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Iliana Figueroa wasn't going to let Trinity Christian Academy walk away unscathed as she scored both of Bishop Snyder's goals, bringing her season total up to nine goals.

Meanwhile, while Trinity Catholic scored more goals than they have all season, the final result was a bit underwhelming. Neither they nor West Port could gain the upper hand back in December of 2024 so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The win was some much needed relief for the Celtics as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

With that draw, Trinity Catholic's record moves to 0-10-2. As for Bishop Snyder, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3-2.

Bishop Snyder was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Catholic when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Snyder since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
