Softball Recap: Cosby Eagles vs. West Greene Buffaloes
Cosby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-4 to the West Greene Buffaloes. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Chloe Hance was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Hicks, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Even though they lost, Cosby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Cosby's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Greene, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cosby will welcome Washburn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Greene, they will be playing at home against Johnson County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
