Rockwall is 7-1 against Longview since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rockwall Yellowjackets will head out to take on the Longview Lobos at 7:00 p.m.

Rockwall is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Royse City just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Yellowjackets were up 26-9 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Longview waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 50-43. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Wildcats are ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rockwall better keep an eye on Jailiyah Rockmore. She was instrumental in Longview's win, putting up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Ward, who posted six points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Rockwall's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Longview, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Rockwall beat Longview 57-44 in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockwall since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
