Baseball Recap: Harvest Prep Warriors vs. Miller Falcons
Harvest Prep extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They lost 22-4 to the Miller Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.
As for Miller, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7. Considering they have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Miller's part, Bodey Dorsey and Ryley Post made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Dorsey pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Post tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Dorsey got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Post went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Dorsey has become a key player for Miller: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Bryce Dorsey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Miller is undefeated when Dorsey posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. Joey Blaney also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
