The North Idaho Christian Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Immaculate Conception Academy Cristeros at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
North Idaho Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss dating back to last season. The match between them and Coeur du Christ Academy wasn't particularly close, with North Idaho Christian falling 68-53.
Meanwhile, Immaculate Conception Academy pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Immaculate Conception Academy's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Dominic Wilhelm, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 48.3% of Immaculate Conception Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dominic Demeyer, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
North Idaho Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Immaculate Conception Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
North Idaho Christian took their victory against the Cristeros in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 59-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Idaho Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
