Helix is 9-1 against Monte Vista since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Highlanders will welcome the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. Helix is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Monte Vista is facing Helix at the wrong time: Helix suffered their first home loss of the season on Monday and they're likely out for redemption. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Helix got a good showing from Katelyn Woodland, who tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Woodland has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lillianna Benabdeljalil made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Naviah Conchas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Southwest SD, falling 17-1. The matchup marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Helix's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Monte Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Helix took their win against Monte Vista in their previous meeting back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
