It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Saint Mary had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They beat the Healdsburg Greyhounds by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-0. Considering Saint Mary's has won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Aidan Donoviel, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Healdsburg off the board. It was the first time this season that Donoviel tossed five or more strikeouts.
At the plate, Logan Donoviel was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Jayson Webb was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
The win was the sixth in a row for Saint Mary's, bringing their record for this year to 16-9. As for Healdsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.
