The Howland Tigers will challenge the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Howland came out on top against Struthers on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Wildcats. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Bode Biggin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Biggin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Howland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't).
In other pitching news, Steven Bubon looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Howland: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Dominic Santee, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Howland is 4-1 when Santee posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Fronzaglio, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Howland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Cardinal Mooney sidestepped Ursuline for a 4-3 victory.
Ford Stacy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaden Reese was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Cardinal Mooney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Howland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
