Volleyball Recap: Warren Warriors vs. Fort Frye Cadets
Warren was the 3-0 winner over Fort Frye when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cadets 25-18 in the first set.
Warren started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17, 15-5.
Elayna Greenwalt paced Warren's offense, picking up 25 kills. Greenwalt got some help from Mya Stemple and her 50 assists. Taylor Greenwalt controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Warren has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-3 record this season. As for Fort Frye, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Warren will challenge rival Point Pleasant at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fort Frye is set to take on their familiar foe Marietta at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
