Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Madison couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Brownstown Central Braves on Saturday.

Lilly Canida paced Madison's offense, picking up nine kills. Canida got some help from Audrey Miller and her 18 assists.

Brownstown Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finley Wheeler, who had seven digs and one block. Wheeler is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophie Wischmeier, who had 17 kills and nine digs.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Brownstown Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brownstown Central, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against North Harrison on the 18th.
